The Mandans is still a mystery.

Georg Catlin called them "The white Indians on the Plains" and launched a thory the were decendants og the welsh Prince Madoc.

He even arranged for a professor from University of Cardiff to study their language, but the professor found no similarities betwee welsh and mandan language,

Prince Maximillian von Wied und Neuwied who also visited them, wrote in a report afterwards that walking through a Mandan village he meet the same kind of people he would find in Europe. He saw people with any kind og eyecolor except green, and all haircolors ecxept green.

Some Scandinavian schoolars say they have found large similarities between Mandan huts and dwellings used by Norwegian Greelanders, as to construction and interior arrangements.

It is proven the Greelanders left Greenland abt. 1500 our time, approx the same time the Mandans moved westwards, as per their own traditions.

After all the Greelanders were the only europeans inhibiting the Western Hemisphere at that time, but where they moven is not yet proven.

What is known is that they visited America regularly in search of timber.

Above proves nothing abt the looks of the Mandan, but their European looks must have come from somewhere.

Just another thing. Their last Chief, Four Bears, died from smallpox. He told Catlin he died with his face rotten, which you don't get from suicide. See >Four Bears last speech, where he condemn the whites for the horrendous act.

One less mystery for Wikipedia!!!
