Much like the old odometer in your car...before they became digital. They had to stop in order to engage a target and could NOT see in the dark...they used a search light. 21st Century M-1 Abrams tanks are rolling computers and are in excess of 1 million dollars apiece. Tanks come in all shapes & sizes & specifications. Much of its cost is involved in the electronics & so on....
