That would depend on the proximity to attack. There were Baseball games and Basketball games at most rear areas. They had those at points as far north as Khe Sanh, Camp Carrol and Dong Ha. (When there was no percieved threat, but everyone knew where the nearest trench was located,) At the Rockpile, Con Thien. Cam Lo or Gio Linh the closest you came to a game was a quick game of bridge or Poker or maybe a crap game. Laugh if you want to, they even played "jacks". In locations like these the bunker was home and the trench was only used to get from place to place.
To simply have served in the country of South Vietnam while serving in the U.S. military services. Many joined the Army, so the initial service was three years. Others were drafted, and had to serve two years in the service. Draftees who came home after serving a year in Vietnam with only two or three months remaining on their 24 month service obligation were given 'early outs.' Others serving from '59 to '75 are considered Vietnam Era Veterans -- serving in the military during that time, but not actually assigned to units in Vietnam.
The thinking behind the rule that soldiers could not be married while serving in the Roman army was that they were supposed to give their full attention to their job as soldiers, not to domestic concerns which could cause a conflict in loyalties in a married man. It also cut down on the desertion rate. The thinking behind the rule that soldiers could not be married while serving in the Roman army was that they were supposed to give their full attention to their job as soldiers, not to domestic concerns which could cause a conflict in loyalties in a married man. The short version is that you probably can't. Some people would be excluded as classified. Others will be in various branches of service. And then you have to define what constitutes as serving in Vietnam. What about service men in Korea, Cambodia, or Laos? While not technically inside the borders of Vietnam, they were still often part of the conflict.
North Vietnam maintained its independent status, while South Vietnam was taken over by North Vietnam.
"Mail Call!"
The soldiers had translators with them and they learned the language best they could while in Vietnam.
The name Lovey's derived from the name Lovegrove. It was a nicknamed penned by fellow Marines while serving in Vietnam.

Jay Leno is certainly in the age group that served in the Vietnam War. He may have had a brother that served in Vietnam; if so, Jay was "relatively" safe from serving in Vietnam. Similiar to actor Chuck Norris, although Mr. Norris did serve in the USAF during those times; unfortunately his brother was KIA while serving with the 101st Abn (Ambl) in Vietnam in 1970.

To date, how many soldiers have received the Bronze Star Medal for their service in Afghanistan?
I think it was when he was awarded for being a hero in Vietnam. He had been shot while saving many of his fellow soldiers, and "mooned" the president by showing him where he was shot.
Yes he did, he also received the Bronze Star and 3 Purple Hearts while serving 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.
A Bronze Star Medal is given to soldiers serving in the United States Armed Forces who show great merit work while serving. All branches of the military are eligible for this medal unless they are aerial pilots.
