in 1939 6 yale law students formed a campus organization to oppose American intervention in the war in Europe. founding members were potter Stewart (later a supreme court judge, sargent shriver (Kennedy family member) fomer presedent Gerald r Ford ,kingman brewster jr ,fomer present of yale. the America first committee held the view that America should build up ts national defenses and strongly opposed us aid to Britain .Charles Lindbergh was a fevent support of AFC and spoke often at their meetings and on the radio on behalf of the committee.sorry but that's all i know hope this gets you started

Basic punch line was non-intervention in World War II- a peace ticket, so to speak. Movement essentially kayoed by the events of the Pacific War- Pearl Harbor attack for one. after that - organization disbanded.
