The Tet offensive in 1968 was a brilliant attack plan by the Communist Vietnamese it surprised the west and lowered over all morale of South Vietnam and U.S troops because there capital Saigon (now known as Ho Chi Minh city) was tooken in so little time. Not only were the troops affected but American citizens presured the goverment even more to withdraw from Vietnam because of the casulties the U.S had 1968 was the most bloodiest year for America with 16592 casulties. Eventually the U.S and South Vietnamese forces would take back the capital but The communist would have a strong foot hold in south Vietnam untill the war ended

It didn't. The First Tet Offensive demoralized the US and played a large part in our decision to pull out of Vietnam. The weird thing about Tet is, the North Vietnamese actually lost on the battlefield.
