Generally the largest contribution of the French to the America's was during the Revolutionary War. The French aided the Continental Army with troops, officers, training, clothes, and weapons. Before the Revolution, the French set up forts along the Ohio Country and because of poor relations between the French and British, the fourth Colonial War broke out resulting in the French and Indian War/Seven Years War. The majority of the fighting was between French and British Indians and it soon concluded with a British victory in Europe.
