Yes, they did. The top 100 of German fighter aces (Germans called them experts) had at least 100 or much more victories. This isn't just an idea of nazi propaganda. The correct Luftwaffe reports have been controlled even after the war. So the "weakest" ones of the top 100 had about one hundred victories... quite a few around 150... some more than 200... and the top 2 had 302 and 352 victories... probably the best 100 fighters of German even destroyed more than 13'000 allied aircrafts. If they couldn't provide any testimony for any shot down ennemy the point wasn't awarded at all. And of course, all of those victories count single... Germans only awarded one victory to one pilot (no divisions).
