Married John Tubman, a free slave in 1844, but remained a slave herself until her escape in 1849. She died from pnuemonia, in a nursing home. she help free black slaves from the whites, and so many blacks were thankful to her. also it was wrong for the whites to ''owns'' black, which is why they created laws and rights for that kind of thing.
