The Treaty of Versailles only dealt with Germany, there were separate treaties for the other Central Powers countries.

The Treaty of Versailles forced Germany to give up land to the newly-created nation Poland, Denmark, France, Belgium, Lithuania and the newly-created nation Czechoslovakia in Europe. They were forced to give up colonies to Britain, France, South Africa(semi-independent British colony), Australia(semi-independent British colony) and Japan.

They were forced to pay exorbitant reparations to Britain, France and Belgium totalling 132 billion Marks(roughly equivalent to $442 billion in 2013). The sum of reparations was eventually lowered multiple times, however the reparations were never paid in full due to the Second World War and Cold War.

The German military was not allowed to set foot on the German territory west of the river Rhine, known as the Rhineland, this area bordered Belgium and France and the de-militarisation zone was to create a buffer zone between Germany and France.

The German Army was not allowed to exceed 100,000 soldiers and conscription was to be abolished.

The German Airforce was to be dismantled and no military aircraft were to be possessed by Germany.

The German Navy had significant restrictions; 6 battleships, 6 cruisers, 12 destroyers, 12 torpedo boats and 0 submarines. Any excesses currently owned were to be dismantled.

The War Guilt clause of the treaty laid sole blame of the war on Germany and her allies, causing massive damage to German national pride.
