Answer -->
The system gradually takes shape through contributions by people like Gabriel Mouton. An early version uses gram, litre, and metre. The later version was adopted by France in 10 Dec 1799. Through colonial activity and Exposition Universelle (1867), half of the world population have adopted metric system by 1875.
Answer --> The SI system uses the Metre, kilogram, Second. An earlier metric system used centimetre, gram, second.
In New Zealand the change to SI was made in 1976.
Essentially all the countries of the world use the SI system of weights and measures. The exceptions are Liberia, Myanmar, and the United States.
Though the metric system has been legal in the US from early times.
And in Britain, "common measures" are still allowed and used. (pint.)
You can use the term "Imperial" only when describing British measures (including as used in other countries but note differences such as the US and UK Gallon). The metric system originally replaced a motley assortment of regional French units, within France; not Imperial. That came later.
Britain is in a transition period between the old Imperial measurements and the metric system.
The original metric system was first proposed in 1668, and was not adopted until the mid-1670s. The closest thing the ancients had, in terms of universal use and ease of that use, were more along the lines of imperial units.
Prior to the widespread implementation of the metric system, imperial measurements, such as inches, feet, yards, and miles, were used. This measurement system is still used predominantly in the United States and other countries, though most now rely upon the metric system (millimeters, centimeters, meters, kilometers, and so on). At the time the Laws of the Game were established, the imperial system was used in England, where the Laws were first written. Although the Laws now indicate metric measurements, the imperial measurements are kept as a matter of tradition.
The metric system is generally considered superior to the imperial system due to its easy of conversion between units. For example: 10 millimeters = 1 centimeter 100 centimeters = 1 meter 1000 meters = 1 kilometer 1000 milliliters = 1 liter 1000 grams = 1 kilogram The smallest commonly used units in the metric system are alot smaller than those of the imperial system and can therefore make more accurate measurements with out needing to use fractions.
Liters are the metric unit of volume. The imperial equivalent is gallons. To convert Liters to Gallons, multiply the number of Liters by 0.26417. Example: 2 liters 2 liters x (0.26417 gallons/liter) = 0.5283 gallons

To change the measurement system from metric to imperial in a Hyundai Genesis, start the vehicle and access the settings menu on the infotainment system. Navigate to the "Settings" or "Vehicle Settings" option, and look for "Units" or "Measurement Units." Select the option to switch from metric to imperial, and confirm your choice. The system should then display measurements in miles, gallons, and Fahrenheit.
Metric tons can't be converted to imperial gallons. Metric tons measure mass, while imperial gallons measure volume.
