Women's suffrage continues today in many parts of the world. Women in Saudia Arabia are currently fighting for the right to vote. In the U.S., the women's suffrage movement began in the early 19th century and culminated in 1920 with the passing of the 19th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It provided that no state nor the federal government could deny a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's sex.
