Information about The Crusades
The Crusades: A series of Holy wars between the Europeans and the Muslims
Why?: To gain control of the Holy Land. The Seljuk Turks took over the Holy Land and killed any Christian pilgrim that tried to pray in Jerusalem. The Europeans also wanted control of the trade routes.
Outcomes:
Many people on both sides died and the Europeans failed to gain the Holy Land. But the Turks from now on let the pilgrims pass without a problem with respect for their king. The Crusaders brought back goods (silk, rugs, jewels, food, and ideas) from the Middle East and they became popular in Europe. Merchants became richer and moved out of manors to start their own towns and cities. Peasants bought their freedom (some) and Feudalism grew much weaker.
Crusaders came from Britain, France, Belgium, Spain and a few other countries.
Crusaders F.C. was created in 1898.
They were known simply as the Crusaders.
Yes and No. History will tell you that the Crusaders went to Israel with no intention on going anywhere else. Some people argue however that they must have come over at some point due to the rock inscribed with the Crusaders holy cross found in Indiana. Most people, myself included, want to believe the finder of said rock made it himself. There's a whole 2-hour special on the History Channel about it, The Holy Grail in America , i think it's called. Hope that gives you an idea.

The word assasin comes from hashishi the name of a group of heathens that used hashish and murdered crusaders in their sleep. The crusaders could not pronounce their name so they called them assasins.
The crusaders were able to scale the tower and sneak into Antioch. Once inside they were able to open a gate and allow the rest of the army to come in and attack the city.
