WWII; the US was intentionally and deliberately attacked by an extremely powerful military force from the Empire of Japan.

1. The Revolutionary War could've been avoided; just remain a colony...no loss, no gain.

2. The War of 1812 could've been avoided; just keep haggling along with the British.

3. The Mexican War could've been avoided; purchase Mexican lands over the years.

4. The Civil War could've been avoided; let them have their own country (CSA).

5. The Spanish-American War could've been avoided; Spain's Empire was collapsing anyway.

6. US in WWI could've been avoided, the US missed 4/5ths of it already.

7. Korea could've been avoided; let the South fall.

8. Vietnam could've been avoided; let the South fall (it fell anyway).

9. Indian Wars (1622-1890), fight in self defense only; no use of military force to send the nations back onto the reservations. Just learn to live with each other like today, fighting in "good guy, bad guy" scenarios only. Nearly all of the Indian Wars were the result of forcing the Indians to live somewhere else (reservations usually), this involved the army; which resulted in battle.

im sure if you look at any war in detail there would be a way to stop it...
