Because they attached conditions to their surrender and the Allied Forces wanted an unconditional surrender. In the end they compromised. Truman allowed Emperor Hirohito remain a figurehead Emperor since the Japanese worshiped him as a god.
Everytime one of their nuclear subs sank we had to help them recover lives, etc.; though they often politely declined our offer thru fear that we might see some of their military secrets...which was a fairly valid point.
the soviets role was that they wanted to conquer afgan and the U.S didn't want them to have that country so they shipped rifles and stingers to help fight the soviets
The allied forces (USA, UK, USSR) won world war two with the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany and the Japanese empire.
Firstly to scare the Japanese into surrendering secondly and possibly firstly as well to see what would happen to a population that was affected by nuclear attack. and thirdly to scare the hell out of the whole world and with the help of the Russians get the biggest arms race going that history has ever seen. (A real little money spinner)
The Soviets believed that it belonged to them, so they would do what they wanted.
Before the bombs, Japan was contacting the Russians for help. In the time President Truman did not had contact with them.
There was no such this as the Truman plan but there is two plans he instituted to help out Europe during the post WWII era. He instituted The Marshall plan that was made to help stabilize Europe's economy, and he also established the Truman Doctrine that stated that the US would support Greece and Turkey when the Soviets were trying to expand their power.
It would help if you stated WHICH surrender
In ww2 Truman droped the atomic bomb because the Japanese would not surrender.Even though they were running out of troops and supplies they were determined to fight to the dealth because of a thing called the Bushido practice used in Japan at the time. It meant that all Japanese soldiers were supposed to fight until they died. They were never to surrender because they thought if you did that it dishonored your family, and it was a privilage to go and die for the Emporer. So, with that stuck in their minds it took 2 atomic bombs one on Hiroshima killing 140,000 and the other on Nagasaki killing 80,000.But if Truman wouldn't of done it hundreds of thousands of Americans would of died, Truman had a meeting with his cabinet and said they would try the bomb because ir it worked it would help save lives the only otheroption would be to send a million men to try and take over the island of Japan and it would result in the heaviest casualties of the war.So, Truman did it to try and save the lives of his own people both military and civilian from the ruthless Japanese. There is also the belief it was a show of force towards the soviet union.
