Well first of all, it is not known actually as Latin America, this is a stupid name the french gave this land, it is simply America, not only talking about the USAa, but the whole contienent, they came because the Turks, did not allow the europeans to continue with the trade with the far east, so Columbus thought of a way to navigate around the Turks and find new routes to the same place, but he found America which was named like that after Columbus died, since he never knew where he had landed.
