No, I honestly think that Anne made a mistake by making her diary. She was aware that someone would find it, and use it for further research, so why write your personal thoughts in it?

No she didn't. When the men took her and the people living in the attic she obviously had to leave everything behind. The diary was later found by the family that owned the building where she stayed.

New york Minute 1 says that this answer is not rubbish, in fact have you even read the book? Because I did when I was ten years old, and I am Catholic and German and Dutch. Anne Frank's diary was discovered in the attic where she and the others were forced to live, cramped in, no facilities, no noise, constant fear.If some of you people would actually pick up a book, you would discover the joy of experiencing the life of a poor little Jewish girl hiding out for her life and that of her parents and siblings. The attic in which Anne Frank hid out is an actual museum, where you are welcome to learn all about. Why don't you Google it, and just do good old fashion research. Thirty two years of school will make this very easy...Read.

___

  1. The first answer says "was aware that someone would find it, and use it for further research". No, she had no reason to think that it would be found ... She had no reason to assume that she and the others would be betrayed.
  2. Some statements that she heard on the radio encouraged her to add more detail (for possible future research), but she did not write the diary for publication or primarily for future research. It was, above all, a personal record, not a chronicle.
  3. After the Franks and the others were arrested, Miep Gies went back, found the diary and kept it. When Otto returned as the sole Survivor she returned it to him.
