Most of the invaders of the western part of the Roman Empire were Germanic peoples. The Vandals, Sueves, Alans (who were Iranian speakers) and Burgundians were from central Europe. The Alemanni were from southern Germany. The Angles, Saxons and Jutes were from northern Germany. The Frisians were from the north of the Netherlands.
The eastern part of the Roman Empire was not affected by these invasions and continued to exist for nearly 1,000 years.

∙ 10y agoThe western part of the Roman Empire was invaded by several Germanic people and one Iranian-speaking people (the Alans). The Vandals, Sueves and Alans from central Europe invaded Gaul and then moved to Spain, Portugal and north-western Africa. The Alemanni from southern Germany invaded Lorraine (in north-eastern France) and most of Switzerland. The Angles, Saxons, Jutes from northern Germany and the Frisians from the north of the Netherlands migrated to Britannia in waves and took it over.
Germanic is a language group which comprise German, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and English. These Germanic peoples were the ancestors of the modern peoples who speak these languages.

∙ 10y agoThe nomadic invaders were any group of people who had no permanent towns/villages. The generally followed their herds and flocks from grazing ground to grazing ground. The Germanic tribes were the ones who invaded the Roman empire as they were being pushed out of their territories by Eastern invaders.
