What do you do if you have no Valentine for Valentine's Day?

Everyone thinks you have to have a boyfriend or husband for Valentine's Day right? Wrong! Anyone can have a great time you can watch romance movies like BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, VALENTINE'S DAY, or THE HOUSE BUNNY. Also, you can just hang out with your friends, like, go to the mall, shop, have fun! You can also watch a Horror movie take your mind off things, like MY BLOODY VALENTINE, THE GRUDGE, or THE EXORCIST.

You can just act like it is any other day, and ignore the entire thing. Although, that can be a little difficult with Hallmark taking over the world that day.

There are a few other options. A quote that I like is by Mark Twain, "The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up."

Take out your mom, dad, aunt, sister, friend, neighbor, or anyone else that you care about. There won't be awkward expectations, and you can still totally both have a good time. If you don't want to see all the little lovebirds tweeting all about, rent some movies, cook a nice dinner, and stay in. You can even have a few people over.

If you have a younger niece or nephew or friend, take them out and make it an awesome day for them. My daughters love it when their uncle occasionally lavishes attention on them. Kids usually have card trades and things at school, but it is really good for them to totally be the center of attention for a day. One on one time is great for them.

Or...Be anti-Valentine. Have a couple of friends that feel the same over, and rent horror movies where the girlfriend keeps tripping and falling in the woods, and laugh at her while eating delivered Pizza.

Celebrate being single, or get all your other single mates, and celebrate another strong love, friendship love. Grab all your single mates, met at on of their houses and watch a romance free film, eat lots of chocolate and ice-cream (or whatever you like to eat) and have fun.

Treat yourself to something. If you can't afford much fix a nice dinner for yourself, put on music you like and eat a fancy desert. Many people who live alone go through this each year. They sometimes find others who are alone and have a anti-Valentine party. It doesn't take another person to make you happy. Happiness comes from within.
