Go to your nearest bike shop and they will do it for you. You just pull the clip thing on the side/under the seat and push the seat down and then push the clip back.

On an '89, remove both side covers and you will see a bolt on both sides of the bike just under the seat. Remove the bolts, lift the back of the seat and slide toward the rear of the bike.
Disassemble, clean and reassemble the clamp. Tighten harder. If this fails, get another clamp, or another seat post, depending on the design.
