The caliper piston may not retract properly due to a lack of lubrication, a damaged seal, or air trapped in the brake system.
Try bleeding your brake lines, you may have some gunk in there.
you need to turn the caliper piston clockwise as it is being pushed in. There is a special tool but you can work it in with a c clamp, just make sure you don't tear the rubber boot. Also, make sure the nepressin area of the head of the caliper aligns with the raised point on the inner pad
on a mazda3 rear caliper there are two dimples in the piston, you can use needle nose pliers to turn the piston while you push on it, or you can rent a caliper compression tool from a local auto parts store, if there is a harbor freight in your area you can buy the tool for around $20. using a c clamp will damage the caliper, it has to have pressure and rotation to be compressed
did you try turning it backwards or left handed. I had a Nissan Maxima and the pistons were left handed
on the caliper take out the bottom bolt, there are two bolts that the caliper slides on and only undo the bottom one. Then the caliper will swing up and allow access to the disc pads . You need to get a G-clamp and push the piston in the caliper back( or else it wont fit back down). put it back together and pump the brakes to set the brake piston b4 you drive or the first time you go to brake you wont have any.
there are two ways caliper pistons are made, one you can just use a c-clamp to push the piston back into the caliper; the other piston type must be screwed into the caliper with a special tool (inexpensive and readily available at your local auto parts store), but i must warn you, this "screw type" is very annoying to deal with, sometimes you have to start screwing it in with a pair of channel lock pliers b/c the tool wont fit in the caliper until the piston is most of the way back into the caliper, but be careful not to scar the outside of the piston and not to break or tear the seal
some model's that have the parking brake Incorporated into the rear caliper, you must compress and turn the piston until the proper clearance is obtained.
open the bleeder valve I'm assuming your talking about a disk brake, you need to use a C clamp and the old brake pads to force the piston back into the caliper. If it had a X in the head of the piston you need to get the tool to turn it back in. If all that doesn't work, the caliper is frozen and it needs to be replaced
you have not back off your caliper pistons completely, when you don't bottom out your caliper pistons they leave a small thickness inside caliper which won't let them seat properly. the other thing it could be is the felxible hose between the caliper and the frame, is broken internally that allows pressure to caliper piston when braking but does not let it release properly because internal hose stops reverse flow.this usually occurrs when someone is replacing brake pads and allows calipers to hang down via the hoses or balances them on the spindle arms and they fall off with a sudden joult causing damage to internal hoses.
Try turning it with long nose pliers
AnswerSometimes if piston wont push back in try twisting it back in. Its on a 'staircase' pawl. Twist. push, twist, push etc.Use a 12mm (about 1/2inch) hex key to rotate the piston at center hole. no need to push, just rotate. Before rotation don't forget to let the handbake off, and brake fluid reservoir open.Check the piston gaskets and replace if needed (Ford Mondeo MK3 compatible), the set for the Ford Mondeo is about 11$ per caliper.
What year is your car if it has been in an accident the seat belts can fail as a safety precaution My vehicle is a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The Front Seat belts are half way out and will not retract. Can I get them to retract?
