The function of the door handle inside a car is to allow the driver or passengers to open and close the door from the inside of the vehicle.
The outside door handle on a car allows the driver or passengers to easily open the door from the outside by pulling or lifting the handle.
You have to:Remove the door panel.Undo the rods off of the handle.unbolt the door handle from the inside of the door.

from the inside. take your door panel off and look around in there. the door handle is usually held on with pop rivets that have to be cut off from the inside of the door.
You have to remove the door panel from the inside of the door, and then remove the door linkage from the inside of the door handle. Next there are two bolts that you need to remove from the inside of the door handle, and then it will come off of the car.
there are screws in the door, and holding the handle on. You can get to the ones holding on the handle by pulling off the covers on each side of the door handle inside.
you dont........you buy a new car.....
Take off the door panel. the plastic clip that holds the metal rod to the door handle came off or broke off. replace it.
If it's the outer handle you would need to remove the door panel, then remove the rivits that hold the handle to the outside of the car. Then remove the window track and slide it down inside of the door and unhook the rod on the handle, and now you can slide the door handle out.
It is not that hard... all you have to do is when you have the new door handle you have to take the door panel off on the inside of the car and reach through the holes and unscrew the bolts to the handle and the door handle should come off and put the new one on and put the screws back on and put the door panel back on. open the car door with the handle
If the door won't open from the inside, then maybe it's due to the child safety locks. If it won't open from the outside, then maybe it's locked, or the door handle mechanism has broken, as it has on my 1998 Civic. From the inside, you might be able to remove the screw holding the handle and slide the handle set forward to remove it from the door.
