First and foremost, do not panic.

Whatever the situation, you will not be helping anyone by panicking and searching for answers to questions like this on the internet will only leave you open to abuse. I say this because I do have a bit of fun with silly questions, but yours is not at all silly, and your concern is very real. However, smeone else may not appreciate your concern.

No one can properly answer why UCLA medical centre called you, only UCLA medical centre can answer that. For privacy, only your daughter (if she is not a minor) can speak to health professionals about her health, and health professionals can never legally speak to a third party about your daughters health. Legally, you are a third party.

My suggestion is to find the correct number for the UCLA switchboard, ring them and mention you received a call about your daughter, and take the issue from there, if there is an issue.

If they tell you they are not authorised to speak to you about her health, then you most likely have nothing to worry about, and the first call you received may not have been important at all. Please understand that if they do not talk to you about her health, it is because she is well enough in mind to be the advocate for her own health.
