In some cases, symptoms may persist longer, especially if there is an allergic reaction. Generally, the discomfort tends to subside within 1 to 3 days. If symptoms worsen or persist, seeking medical advice is recommended.

Black fly bite was unique. It left one third millimeter size blood where it took my blood. After about 15 hrs(?), I developed a red 5 millimeter diameter circle on the site. After 3 days, I still have the red circle. But the strength has weakened. I guess the redness will disappear in a week or so? What I'm worried is that the black fly carries parasites primarily in Africa or the middel Eastern countries. Does it possibly carry parasites in the States too? Could have I gotten some shot at the bite site so that the possible parasites could have been killed?
