There are many different famous Filipino scientists. Some of these include Julian Banzon who produced alternative fuels, Benjamin Almeda who designed a food processing machine, and Paulo Campos who built the first radioisotope laboratory in the Philippines.
Benjamin Almeda invented the electric coconut grater in the early 1920s in the Philippines as a solution to the labor-intensive process of grating coconuts by hand. He designed a machine that utilized an electric motor to automate the grating process, significantly increasing efficiency and reducing the time needed for coconut preparation. Almeda's innovation not only simplified the task for local workers but also contributed to the growth of the coconut industry by facilitating easier access to grated coconut for culinary uses.
Angel Alcala is a Filipino inventor of artificial coral reefs and Benjamin Almeda is also a Filipino inventor who built a machine that process foods. Galileo was also an inventor, he builds his own telescope and Anton van Leeuwenhoek, who invented a modern microscope are some of the foreign inventors.
He researched the technology in France, and built the machine back home in Louisiana, USA.
Benjamin Franklin
Typically it is just a machine that doesn't do anything else but word processing. My grandfather had a huge desk/machine that was built only for word processing... it could store and save and print documents, but it had no other computer functions. I suppose the term could also be applied to software that was designed for that singular use as well.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology built some early computers in the 1940's that took up an entire room for the memory storage and processing unit.
It does have a grinder built in to the left side of the machine.
