In most countries, child labor is illegal. But a child can do chores and be paid for them legally.

If you're after ways to earn your allowance, then approach your parents for "odd" jobs around the house, garden or simple things like answering phones etc. Until you are "of age" you cannot legally "have a job".
You are so young that I would suggest just asking your parents if you can help around the house for a little money, but if you realy want a proper job, then there are certain things you can do. These include: * Looking in newspapers/magazines/online (<------ BE VERY CAREFUL ONLINE AND ALWAYS TELL A PARENT/GUARDIAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING) * Helping around the house and/or doing extra jobs for family members * Placing adverts in shop windows (<---Do NOT give out any personal information and if you do, tell your parent/guardian.)
There is no job that a 9 year old can lawfully do other than household light chores for which they can be paid. there is many jobs you can get not local jobs though. you can set up a lemonade stand. Or you can go to your neighbors house and ask them if you could raise some money by doing something for them.
Be a chef when i was 9 i opened a shack and sold Sandwiches, lemonade cookies etc. Everyday and sold for 15min. At the end of the week i had make £70!

You can also clean cars, wash windows and dogs, rake leaves and remove snow. I made £110 in a week for this. I made my own leaflets. They just said that i was willing to do these jobs. I delivered them out to 5 streets and told them my address and soon people were lining up at my door to ask me to do things!
