One was that they had reached a level of responsibility that was just beyond their capability to perform and they were worried that they would be found out. Yes, I have. Defeating the regular grotto bosses is not hard, tracking them down is part of the challenge. Defeating all the legacy bosses is ls less difficult than the act of obtaining all of their maps. While some are quest based, others require you to grind against other legacy bosses, and Greygnarl until they drop the maps. However once you've done that, even the hardest legacy bosses like Nokturnus are not too much of a hassle while they are only Lv1.
