no. they may not:
Under human rights law, for the confiscation to be lawful, it must be justifiable on the basis that it is necessary in a democratic society by being:
it is legitimate.
but proportionate? no. (Supv note: This question was posted on 26May. In the U.S. the "end of the school year" is a week or two away. With that in mind, the proportionality of the confiscation makes it quite reasonable.)
for instance: it is of high value so the end of the school day would be proportionate; how ever if by policy a student is Chewing Gum, but should not be, then the gum, being of low value, should be disposed of. that is proportionate. this is law. i would definitely bring this to the appropriate authorities. yes they can take phones only if they are causing distractions. faculty staff may not search you for a phone. only weapons.. if the staff member suspects something, a law enforcement officer needs to search a student for ANYTHING OTHER THAN WEAPONS.
Although confiscation of a mobile phone is legitimate, searching through a phone or accessing text messages without the pupil's permission is not
ANS2:Yes, they may if you authorized them to do it. That authorization may have come in the form of your signature on the disciplinary policy or student code of conduct that many schools require to be signed by a parent or guardian upon the student's enrollment. Did you read it before you signed it?Theft is simply defined as: The trespassory and taking away the property of another without their consent. Anyone doing so, without out consent would be guilty of theft. Governmental entities such as schools have other means and methods to address the use of phones in schools. Taken away the property of another would not be legal. They could suspend the student or take other actions but not take or keep the property of another.
Personally I do think that mobile phones should be brought to school. But Teachers don't allow it because they think that children could be cheating by text messaging other children the answer. In most schools that is also school policy. If children get caught with their cell phones then the person who saw them would take the mobile phone away
They were to go to school until the age of 7. After that, they were sent off to live away from their families, in military barracks.
Children go to school to study and learn, not to be texting their friends and sending photos on the phone. This is another distraction that takes away from the concentration needed to be a good student.
take his phone away while he's in school....
No, the school districts are not responsible for electronic devices, they even have it in their school planners
pull them away from school work
the state takes children away from there families because the children are being abused from there parents
No, it is against the law and your camera or phone can be taken away from you.
Children are abused when they are around abusers who have an opportunity to abuse. A child molester outside of a family would never molest around parents who are not molesters themselves. They would try to get the children alone to themselves and away from the parents. A mother who hits the kids would typically wait until the father is at work, unless he beats them too. Teachers who abuse kids would do so at school or during outings away from school, not at the kids' homes.
A woman's children can be taken away for truancy if she is keeping them from going to school. Whether or not she can see them or talk to them would be up to the courts. Not all children are removed from the home for truancy.
Some children in Cambodia don't go to school because their families are poor, so their parents want them to work for money. Some parents don't have enough money to buy school supplies for their children. Some children that live far away from school can not go to school, too.
They interrupt a Sunday school picnic, scaring the children away, taking their food and toys, until they are caught by the teachers and forced to drop whatever they had.
