Did Jack the Ripper eat his victims?

Jack the ripper was a mass murderer who raped and killed prostitutes. He could have been a butcher but his knowledge on the human body (eg: when he took kidneys and dismembered Mary Jane Kelly's torso.) made it obvious that he was more of a doctor. ; )

Since the identity of the Ripper was never discovered we may never know for sure. But in several of the many letters sent to police and other principles in the case the writer infered that he had eaten body parts. The Dear Lusk letter that came wrapped in a small box with half of a human kidney the killer states that he had eaten the other half, stating that is was quite good. He didn't mention if he ate it with fava beans and a nice chianti.

Cannibalism and/or necrophilia are very repulsive to most people but not completely uncommon for some killers.

The mutilations carried out by the Ripper on his victms led many to belive that the killer must have had anatomical knowledge. A butcher would have such knowledge, as would a medical doctor, a vetenarian or a furrier.

But it is also true that medical books were available to those that could afford them which could have supplied such knowledge to any layperson. From the photos of victim Catherine Eddowes it is obvious that the kliller had little experience as a surgeon. Her wounds were jagged and unskilled which denotes an unskilled hand carried out the mutilations.
