Serial killers tend to hunt in their own ethnic group (race) but of course there are some that mix it up and then there is Jeffrey Dahmer who was white but his victims were black or asian. Also, serial killer reporting only started in its roughest sense in the late 19th century, and not until the 1970's or so did it acquire momentum in law enforcement, psych, behavioral and criminological circles. So we can fairly assume that (a) especially in the early days, not all serial murders were reported or examined and (b) 36 is way below the actual number of serial killers internationally. Note also that military or police operatives that have many kills to their name (snipers for instance) are not in any way factored into the studies I've seen. In summary, at this time all reputable studies seem to indicate that the percentate per capita of serial killers white versus black show Caucasians seem to commit this crime far more often than blacks.
