I know for sure that NSW's driving age is 16, and you forgot the ACT (Australian Capital Territory, where I live- but it's never included in anything because it's a tiny territory... even though it's the capital of Australia) where the Legal driving age is 15 and 9 months. (as of March 2010)
I'm not sure if the answers are correct for the other states and territory though.

In Western Australia (WA), NT and the ACT it is legal to drive a LHD car provided it is over 15 years old. In NSW, QLD, SA and VIC it is legal provided it is 30 years old. In SA the car must be stock. Club Rego. In almost all states you can get what they call club rego for any car you like (i.e left hand drive) as long as it is roadworthy. You have to be a member of a club and you cant drive the car more then 40km's from your house unless you are on a club run.

Australia is an island continent. The only way to drive to Australia from a another country is to either use a car carrying ferry boat that goes to Australia, or to drive an amphibious car, such as the WW 2 Ford DUKW, and go in calm waters a short distance. Almost everyone goes to Australia by plane or boat, they don't drive there.
