Getting an international driving license is probably a waste of your time and money. Every country of which I am aware just requires that you have a driving license from your country of residence or citizenship.
Years ago (before computers and the internet) international driving licenses were needed but not now.
There may be some countries that still require one, but certainly not any of the major tourist destinations in Europe or North America. If you want to be sure, contact the embassy or consulate of the country where you are planning on driving
You need to apply for an International driving license if you plan to remain in Europe, your Canadian license is OK for a short holiday, check with the authorities though, rules may have changed in the last 2 years.
ok Should not be a problem. A car loan is about credit, not driving.
alwaysNo, it depends on where you are licensed, and where you are going.First off, let's clarify the "International driver's license" (more accurately, international driving permit [IDP]). It does notallow you to drive a car anywhere in the world, all by itself. It is only a translation of your regular drivers license into multiple languages, and it's no good without your legally-issued drivers license. It is not valid in your home country. The main reason for it is so that police in Japan or Saudi Arabia who can't read English will be able to see what your drivers license says.It is valid in all countries that signed the 1949 Convention on Road Traffic. Other countries that did not sign the agreement (such as Mexico) still honor the IDP. Some (like Brazil and China) don't recognize it at all.If you come from an English-speaking country, your regular driving license will be OK in other English-speaking countries such as Canada, the USA, Great Britain, Australia or New Zealand. Most of Europe will also accept a North American driving license.
It depends on your nationality. Driving licence fine if you are an EU citizen just need something issued by the government that's photo id eg: citizen card, driving licence.
