Patrick Henry expressed strong disapproval of the delegates who spoke before him at the Virginia Convention, particularly regarding their support for seeking reconciliation with Britain. He believed they were overly optimistic and naive about the intentions of the British government. Henry argued that their approach was futile and that it was time to take decisive action for independence, famously declaring that "give me liberty, or give me death!" to emphasize his urgency and conviction.

He didn't change it. He was president of the convention but gave no input nor opinion concerning the constitution. He sat from May to September without saying a word, but gave the delegates support and kept the convention on task.
A Supreme Court justice may choose to write a concurring opinion when he or she agrees with the majority decision, but wants to add perceptions or legal reasoning not addressed, or not addressed to that justice's satisfaction, in the majority opinion (opinion of the Court).

The delegates to the Constitutional Convention believed that the flaws in the Articles of Confederation were two numerous and two deep to be remedied by making superficial changes to the document. The biggest issue in the delegates' opinion was the weakness of the federal government under the Articles of Confederation. As a result, in the US Constitution of 1789, the federal government has many more expanded powers.
