In most countries suicide is no longer a criminal act. Aiding someone to commit is (in some), but the act itself isn't.
India is in the process of repealing it's suicide laws (may already have occurred). Singapore is the only country I could find with it still on the books. Suicide attempts are punishable by one year in prison. Not sure of any other countries.
