With the murder of Mary Ann Nichols on August 31, 1888 investigators were able to begin to see a pattern that matched at least one other victim, Martha Tabran, whose body was found in the early morning of August 7, 1888, in George Yard Buildings, Spitalfields. She had been stabbed 39 times, and with a lack of defense wounds on her hands and arms, it stands to reason she was attacked from behind. Tabran's murder was already under investigation so I guess that would be the official date that case was opened.
That case was not closed.
Still unsolved.
2 were doctors
There isn't one. The case has never been solved.
Nobody knows who Jack the Ripper was.
There is a museum that claims to have the knife of Jack The Ripper. If you 'read the fine print' you will find that it is not the knife used by the Ripper. There was never a weapon recovered in this case. In what remains of autopsy reports of the Ripper's victims it can't even be determined as to the exact type and size of the knife used.

Nope still a open case.Actually, the case was officially closed in 1892.//The case of Jack The Ripper is unresolved and officially considered an open case. As with any open criminal investigation the files are not accessable to the public. British law dictates that the unsolved Ripper crimes, although still an open case, after 75 years the files are opened. This ensures that more than likely the killer is long dead, as would be any family members of the victims that could suffer from such information being scutinized by the public.
Probably not. Jack The Ripper is still unidentified and although it's been over 120 years since hes murders began the case is still officially open and unsolved.
