Serial murder is among the hardest crimes to solve, so it's no surprise that many cases go cold and are almost forgotten except for the victim's loved ones. The most well-known serial killer of all time has evaded detection for over a century. London's Jack The Ripper is as well known to modern citizens as he was at the height of his crimes. Responsibe for six to fifteen murders of east end prostitutes, JTR has been the subject of hundreds of books, movies, and even plays on the stage. There are Ripper Walks, Ripper Weekends, Ripper websights, and has given birth to what is known as 'Ripperologists', people that study his crimes in an attempt to solve the mystery, of which I am one.
The original Zodiac*, who in the 1960's and 1970's, terrorized the state of California, killing at least seven people. Zodiac seemed to like couples parked in isolated locations. Associated mostly with murders in the San Francisco Bay area, he in fact killed several people in the Los Angeles area.
The Alphabet Murderer remains at large after killing three young girls in the New York area. Named for his choice of victims, Carmen Colon, found in Churchville, Wanda Walkowicz, her body found in Webster, next was Michelle Maenza, her body found in Macedon, near Rochester, NY. Then the killings stopped. It is very probable that he was either incarcerated for other crimes or he moved out of the New York area.
Bible John stalked the Glasgow area in Scotland from February 1968 to October 30, 1969. Killing at least three young women, Bible John impressed his victims with his encyclopedic knowledge of scripture. It was a very effective ruse. If you can't trust a Christian, who can you trust, or so the victims thought. Police had a likely suspect and his body was exhumed for DNA testing. The results were inconclusive, and the crimes remain unsolved.
Alfred Hitchcock based the killer on Jack The Ripper, and because the Ripper was never caught, I don't think Hitchcock would have revealed his serial killer either.
Except for the fact that they were both serial killers that were never identified or caught they have nothing to do with each other.
Nothing definitive is known about the Zodiac's background since he was never caught. But his crimes were murders since he was a serial killer. He killed with a pistol and with a knife.
That was Pedro Lopez.
Dexter Isaacs
Nobody knows, his killer was never caught or positively identified.
Never Trust a Serial Killer - 2002 was released on: USA: 1 June 2002 USA: 11 April 2003 (WorldFest Houston)
This is a serial killer that stopped after three murders or commited other killings with another modus operandi. It comes to mind that this serial killer died sudently. He was never arrested.
That question is impossible to answer honestly as he may not have been caught yet
Jack the Ripper was a serial killer active in London's east end beginning in the year 1888. He was never caught nor identified, which leaves the cold case a focal point for theorists and amateur detectives.
You sir, May never know.
In 1947 when Elizabeth Short was killed technology was primitave compared to what we have now. But serial killers don't usually know their victims. When there is no link between killer and victim it makes it that much harder to find the killer.
