The first constitution, often referring to the Articles of Confederation in the United States, was created to establish a framework for governance and to unify the thirteen colonies after independence from British rule. It aimed to balance the need for a central authority with the desire for individual state sovereignty. However, its weaknesses, such as the lack of a strong executive branch and the inability to levy taxes, ultimately led to the drafting of the current U.S. Constitution in 1787. This new document sought to address these shortcomings and create a more effective federal government.
The Declaration of Independence was written first.

The British Constitution is uncodified, not written down. It is entrenched in the laws of the nation. There is no single document with the constitutional laws written down.
The first document which formally looks like what is now thought of as a "constitution" is the original United States Constitution. This is the first real document which explicitly (and in great detail) lays out how a country's government is to actual work. In terms of a more basic declaration of the purpose and function of government, the Magna Carta is generally considered to be the first such document.
The constitution is the greatest document ever written to some people. To others it is not.It is a person's opinion if they think the constitution is or is not the greatest political document ever written.
It was not the first document written in America. The US did not come into being until the document was signed and ratified so in this sense it became the first document in the USA
