In years past, the BLE has posted a notice on their website (http://courts.michigan.gov/supremecourt/BdofLawExaminers/index.htm) on the day that they place the results in the mail to candidates. If nothing else, this succeeds in rendering the candidates completely unproductive until their mail arrives the following day. At the conclusion of the February 2009 Michigan Bar Examination, candidates were told that the results of the exam would be released "at the end of May." This was the first administration of the test under the new scoring system. Under this system, ALL essays will be read and graded. On past exams, if a candidate received a 75 RAW score on the MultiState portion of the exam, they automatically passed the entire exam and their essays were not graded. Now that all the essays are being graded, it will take longer to grade the exams and thus release the results.
The results for the February 2008 exam were mailed on May 5, 2008, and the results were posted on the Michigan Supreme Court website on May 9, 2009. This was 68 calendar days and 48 business days after the test administration.
The results for the February 2007 exam were mailed to candidates on May 4, 2007 -- 65 calendar and 47 business days after the test administration.
The results for the February 2006 exam were mailed to candidates on May 5, 2006 -- 72 calendar and 52 business days after the test administration.
The results for the February 2005 exam were mailed to candidates on May 12, 2005 -- 78 calendar and 56 business days after the test administration. They were mailed out today (5/19/09). It was posted on the site listed above.
