Well it had already existed thousands of years before Spain. The Spanish influence was more of a layer caking. Putting churches on top of temples, adding cooking ingredients, leaving many holidays or gods but putting Catholic names on them.

The majority of clothing, dace, music, foods, murals, pinatas, crafts remained the same though. Cumpleanos is infant a prehispanic tradition.

Although Spain contributed many things like horses, Guitars, and cheese; they also caused huge cultural losses by burning all books and banning Mexicans from reading.
