Languages have a lot of things in common despite sounding dissimilar. Some of those things are communication, written alphabets, area specific dialects within languages, and of course in many cases shared root words and root languages.
All languages have a system of sounds to convey meaning (phonology), a system of grammar to structure sentences (syntax), a way to express concepts and ideas (lexicon), and the ability to communicate using both verbal and nonverbal cues.
The four steps of active listening are: 1) Paying full attention to the speaker, 2) Demonstrating that you are listening through verbal and non-verbal cues, 3) Reflecting back what you heard to confirm understanding, and 4) Responding appropriately to the speaker's message.

Non electronic methods of communication are ways of communicating through non-electronic sources such as letters, reports, memorandums, etc. Before the invention of electricity, Communication was slow and difficult. Some messages took days, weeks and even months to arrive to its destination. It was also not as affective and less people were able to receive these messages at once.
