The origin of the name Weule One Danish soldier who had survived the battle at Lutter am Barenberg with injuries and amnesia, was left after the battle to recover in Germany. This soldier was fron the Danish seaport of Vejle. Hence, he was known as the man from Vejle, (pronounced Varle). The German people phonetically translated this name to the spelling Weule.
