The same as "Work Power in Spain", which means the sum (the percentage) of folks (basically adults) that are doing some job in a time (a year, a decade etc.); it´s data for political-economical studies, programmes etc.

Look:

......................... WP [work power] (or LF = labor force) ............... P (population)

2006* 2008*

SPAIN ................. 21,1 million ......................................................... 44,6 million

USA ................... 157 million .......................................................... 308,8 million

Norway ............... 2,6 million ............................................................ 4,7 million

Brazil ................ 93,1 million ....................................................... 194,2 million

Mexico ............... 43,1 million ....................................................... 107,8 million

HAITI ..................... 4,1 million ........................................................... 9,8 million

SIERRA LEONE ....... 2,5 million ........................................................... 6 million

These data (in this case, by UNO) in general are neither precise nor real; in many cases they just hint a pale idea of the conditions of a country; other social aspects also have to be watched. Nevertheless you can notice that Mexico and Sierra Leone had then much more than half of their population without working indeed (this is, having no enough money [or no at all] to survive personally), while the others (Sp, US, Nw, Bz) appear like being more or less alright. However we know that things are not so simple: where are the poorest or the richest ones? Are these data enough to show people´s real quality of living?...
