How do you know you got a scholarship?

Most scholarships foundations will send you an email (if you've provided it to them), but nearly all will send you a physical letter notifying you and asking for confirmation that you will receive the scholarship. If you have applied and did not receive a scholarship (mostly for prestigious scholarships and less so for anonymous smaller scholarships) they will sometimes also send you an email/letter that you did not receive the award.
