Quite often the covers on the back of a watch are difficult to squeeze back on no matter how hard you try. Some people have had some success after putting the cover in the freezer for a few hours. I tried this but it didn't work for me. You can buy a special watch tool with an assortment of different sized dies but they can be expensive. What worked for me was wrapping the watch in cloth (to prevent scratching) and prefectly positioning the cover while inserting it into a bench vise. Turn the vise slowly and you can sometimes even hear it click into place. Be careful not to do this on watches that have a crystal that extends out as the vise will crush it.
