Giant pandas are listed as Endangered by the IUCN and thus cannot be kept as pets. Red pandas are listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN and therefore cannot be kept as pets either. Neither species should be treated as a pet.

No not only are they endangered and illegal to have as pets but they are actually part of the bear family and it would be a fools game to try and keep one as a household pet

I bet there are people who have TRAINED pandas as pets. Idon't think there will be many or any in the USA. I bet people in Japan do! Hope this helps! :^)
