Why on earth would you want to get your 1yr old APBT's ears clipped?
In many countries it is now considered that cropping and docking are cruel and classed as forms of mutilation and ban it entirely. In Europe, the cropping of ears is prohibited in all countries that have ratified the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals while some countries that ratified had made exceptions for tail docking.
Ear cropping is only done to change a dog's appearance. It is not required for health reasons as there is no data to backup the claim that cropping prevents ear ailments.
Historically; ear cropping was done in some working breeds to prevent injury while they worked. This was predominantly done in the guard type breeds ie: Mastiffs / Molossers/Pinschers/Boxers. However, many other working breeds did not have cropped ears or docked tails - for example, retrievers and setters. That only serves to reinforce that the cropping of ears served no purpose other than in the dogs used for guarding property; where cropped ears were thought to make the breed appear more ferocious as hanging ears were thought to be reminiscent of the naturally droopy ears of puppies, looking more cute than dangerous.
I own an APBT and would never dream of cosmetically altering her. She is exactly how the breed was intended and looks formidable enough without the need to 'butch' up her appearance by cropping. Please reconsider putting your APBT through 20 weeks of discomfort for your own aesthetic pleasure.
No. They still should be nursed by their mother until at least eight weeks.
No, unless you don't want them to have huge ears, because they almost ALWAYS stand up straight and they are ALWAYS huge, like bat ears. Take it from someone who has a 1 1/2 year old Boston Terrier. He has HUGE ears. Really really big ears. I wouldn't recommand doing that though.

We bought a German shepherd pup in October. We brought him home at 6 weeks old. His ears stood up at 7 weeks old. I have kept picture logs and specifically marked the day his ears stood up.
about 13-15 years
Around 10 - 15 years old.
They will still stand up. i have one that is 9 Weeks old and hers stand all the time. i always touch them
Yes, she is too old. Most Veterinarians will not preform the procedure after 16 weeks.
CHIHUAHUASi own two chihuahuas, and when i got the first one, she came with her ears up, but she was a couple of months old, the second one's ears came up after a couple of weeks of having him, so i am assuming that between the first couple of weeks or months, the dogs ears should come up.Your chi's ears will stand up when the cartlidge in it's ears has strengthened. You may notice that at times it's ears will be up then they'll flop down a little while later...that is normal. Your chi's ears should be fully up when it's reached a couple of months old.
of course
Ear mutilation is usually done around 9 to 11 weeks of age. Any later and the ears may not want to stand. You are trying to find that time when the puppy is old enough to handle the butchery and anesthesia well, but young enough that the cartilage is not set in their ears yet.
Depends on your preference.i bieve at 6 weeks old is fine and there are cause for less infections at a younger age
