i am a horse rider myself and have so far been riding for 7-8 years i am now 13 but am a very experianced rider.

The key thing to riding is balance. It takes a while to gain this but if you keep practising then you will soon be a great rider. Also keep your heels down!

Getting to know your horse. There is no point in being horrible and neglecting your horse and expecting it to give you a perfect ride. You need to get social with it and become good friends with it before you do anything proper with him/her.

tack( saddle, bridle ect.) You need to have the right gear fitted to the horse. If you are not sure of how to fit your pony/horse with tack then ask a vet, horse trainer, horse teacher.

Feed

You have to make sure your horse has a good, healthy diet before you go out riding. Note: NEVER RIDE YOUR HORSE FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR BEFORE RIDING AS IT CAN LEAD TO COLIC AND OTHER ILLNESSES!!!

Grooming

Brush and pick out hooves before and after you ride him/her otherwise it can lead to skin rash, sweat rash, mud rash, alsores and other painfull injurys.

I hope this has been helpful

if you have any questions then email me at codythepony1@hotmail.com

Take care of your horse!!!!
