probaly not terriers do not tend to shed its hard to tell i would think no or maybe just a little but dachshunds have longer hair so i guess it has to do with has this ever been done
yes, that is true, but I have a cross between a dachshund and a jack Russel terrier. He sheds quite a bit, and the hair tends to be kind of scratchy. it may not be the same for you since my dog is 75% dachshund and 25% jack Russel terrier. I would say that he sheds kind of a lot so it is a thing to think about.
In the film Odie was represented by a Dachshund whereas in the comic strip he's a Beagle .
The American Kennel Club or AKC list the dachshund within the Hound Group. The familiar dachshund descends from the cross breeding of hounds and terriers to hunt a variety of game animals. However, in America, the dachshund hunting abilities are seldom fostered. They are often acquired to be family pets or companion dogs. As such, their terrier heritage becomes pronounced while their hound instincts are suppressed. That is, as family or companion dog, they behave more like terriers then hounds. This has lead to some dachshund enthusiast wanting the AKC to reclassify the dachshund as a breed of terrier. Therefore, it would be listed within the Terrier Group. That would be erroneous. The dachshund is a true hound that are competent hunters, if given the opportunity.
Chopper was a dachshund, specifically a miniature dachshund.

The Norwich Terrier does shed, but not as much as other dog breeds. It is a very light shedder. Grooming, bathing, and brushing a dog can make them shed less. These dogs have shaggy, medium length, waterproof coats.
