If your guinea pig runs away when you try to pick it up, it's best to give it some space and time to feel comfortable. Guinea pigs can be skittish and may need to build trust with you. Instead of chasing it, try sitting quietly nearby or offering treats to encourage it to come to you. Once it seems more at ease, you can attempt to pick it up again gently.
No, you should not touch them right away. Wait for a few days (a week or so) and let them get use to their cage and their parents. Then pick them up.
Either leave it, it should come off in the sawdust or wood shavings, whatever is in your guinea-pig's cage, or, you can pick up the guinea-pig and flick it or pick it off.
the guinea pig will not run away when it sees you, it will also seem excited to be around you.
yes, you can and it should be fine.
Mine does this too. Mine runs away from me so not hard but pick it up and support the butt and lightly push against the cage. It works for me.
yes...who cares if they pick on people
Yes they can.
pick it up
you can touch the newborn after the mother has cleaned it. don't pick it up or take it away from its mother for about 24 hours and after that never keep it more than a few minutes away from the mom.
Ask someone who works with that while ur at the rescue place then choose which personality you like the best.
open the cage door and grab the guinea pig...its that easy I wouldn't grab them because they are small and can be quite fragile. If they will not come when you call you should either gently pick them up and out or tempt them out with food.
For the first day you get your guinea pig you should leave him alone for 1 - 3 days. When those 3 days are up you start talking gently to him so he can get use to you even if it includes talking to your self ( and still you do not pick up your piggy). When all of these days are up then the time is right to start picking up him or her,but you still have to do everything since the first day.Every time you pick him up make sure that you give him a couple of treats. And last of all make sure he see's you refilling his water or food so he realizes that you are a caregiver.
