JOHN DEERe recomends using JD Low viscosity Hy-Gard Transmission/Hydraulic fluid in it's equipment. Please check your owner's manual for any specific requirements, if one is available. There is no equivalent on the market that I could find. The fluid keeps solvent in low temperatures and can be used in Transmissions and Hydraulics, separate or common resevoirs. I am not a John Deere expert..just a owner/user. From a web site... Hy-GARD® JDM J20C Transmission and Hydraulic Oil
John Deere Hy-GARD® provides the absolute best performance and wear protection for John Deere hydraulic and transmission systems. John Deere Hy-GARD® is recommended for equipment with either common system reservoirs or separate transmission and hydraulic systems including those with wet brakes and wet clutches. John Deere Hy-GARD® is an exclusive formulation containing a viscosity improver additive to assure optimum viscosity at all temperatures. This additive provides critical component protection, especially during startup and under heavy load. John Deere Hy-GARD® also contains friction modifiers to provide smoother clutch engagement and higher braking capacity with minimum chatter. John Deere Hy-GARD® exceeds JDM J20C specifications and only John Deere Hy-GARD meets John Deere's exacting performance requirements.

The hydraulic fluid reservoir on a John Deere 2030 typically holds about 8 to 9 gallons (30 to 34 liters) of hydraulic fluid. It's important to check the owner's manual for specific details and maintenance guidelines. Proper fluid levels are essential for optimal hydraulic system performance.
For a 1989 John Deere 410C backhoe, the recommended transmission fluid is typically John Deere J20C or J20D hydraulic fluid. These fluids are specifically designed to provide the necessary lubrication and performance for the machine’s hydraulic and transmission systems. Always consult the operator's manual for specific fluid recommendations and capacities.
To check the hydraulic fluid on a 2030 John Deere tractor, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, which is typically found on the left side of the tractor near the rear. Remove the dipstick or check plug from the reservoir to assess the fluid level. Ensure the tractor is on a level surface and that the engine is off before checking. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate hydraulic fluid as specified in the operator's manual.
The John Deere 1010 model RS typically uses a hydraulic fluid that meets the specifications of John Deere Hy-Gard or an equivalent high-quality hydraulic oil. It's essential to use fluids that meet the JDM J20C or J20D standards to ensure optimal performance and protection of the hydraulic system. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations and fluid capacities.

The John Deere 5055E tractor typically has a hydraulic fluid capacity of approximately 14.5 gallons (54.8 liters). It's important to check the owner's manual for the specific model year, as capacities may vary slightly. Always use the recommended hydraulic fluid type for optimal performance.
The John Deere 2155 typically holds about 10 to 12 gallons of hydraulic fluid, depending on the specific configuration and attachments used. It's essential to consult the operator's manual for the exact specifications and recommendations for your particular model. Regular checks and maintenance of the hydraulic fluid level are crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the hydraulic system.
To add hydraulic fluid to a John Deere 2020, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, usually found near the rear of the tractor. Remove the cap from the reservoir, and use a funnel to pour in the appropriate hydraulic fluid, ensuring you check the fluid level with the dipstick if equipped. Always refer to the owner’s manual for the correct type of fluid and maintenance guidelines. Make sure to check for leaks and clean any spills after refilling.
To add hydraulic fluid in a John Deere 2555, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, which is typically found on the left side of the tractor near the rear. Remove the filler cap and use a funnel to add the appropriate hydraulic fluid as specified in the owner's manual. Be sure to check the fluid level using the dipstick and add fluid until it reaches the recommended level. Always consult the owner's manual for specific instructions and fluid specifications.
Go to your John Deere dealer and pay big bucks for their hydrostatic fluid or go almost anywhere else and buy a good quality hydraulic fluid.
