Woolly rhinoceros lived in Europe and Asia during the last Ice Age. No specimens younger than 15,000 years old have been found in Europe, although specimens in Siberia may date to as young as 8,000 years old. Nobody knows why they died out, but theories include climate change, human overhunting, or diseases that were introduced by early humans.
